Airbus expands use of sustainable fuel
Airbus is expanding its operations using the so-called sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in the aircraft that are delivered from its industrial plant in Hamburg, Germany. The Canadian company Air Transat was the first to receive a new aircraft fueled with SAF, when its two newly delivered A321LR had their tanks filled with a mixture of aviation kerosene and 10% sustainable fuel. The procedure is a way to reduce pollutant emissions, while allowing the aerospace industry to validate the use of alternative fuels to kerosene, using the same engines and systems. –
