Airport employees begin to be vaccinated against covid-19
Vaccination of professionals working at airports began on 5/28 at Guarulhos Terminal 1. According to the Ministry of Health, approximately 173 K doses of the AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine from Fiocruz will be distributed to workers throughout Brazil. The Government of Sao Paulo announced that the batches of vaccines began to be sent by the Ministry of Health on 05/25, and will be sufficient to immunize, in this first phase, 19 K workers at Guarulhos, Campinas, and Congonhas airports. For now, according to a survey by Abesata (the Brazilian Association of Auxiliary Air Transport Service Companies), under the coordination and definition of the public bodies, must make task forces to immunize aviation personnel at the Guarulhos, Viracopos, Congonhas, Fortaleza, and Porto Alegre airports. Airline professionals are included in the priority vaccination groups established by the National Covid-19 Vaccination Operationalization Plan (PNO, in Portuguese) since the beginning of the year. The inclusion of workers from airport administrations and ground handling companies was achieved thanks to a joint effort by the entities Abesata, Sineata, Sinteata, Aneaa, and the Ministry of Infrastructure, which requested the change of the expression “employees of national airlines” to “Employees of airlines, airports, and auxiliary air transport service companies” in the definition text of the priority group. All of these employees are at the forefront of air transport. To be entitled to the vaccine, professionals must present the proper valid airport accreditation. – https://www.panrotas.com.br/coronavirus/aeroportos/2021/05/funcionarios-de-aeroportos-comecam-a-ser-vacinados-contra-covid-19_181855.html
