Demand for corporate travel is increasing
More companies are reporting a willingness and effective return to corporate travel, with domestic travel taking the lead, according to new GBTA survey results. However, government restrictions on international travel continue to hamper companies’ ability to perform important business functions. The survey shows an increase of 12% compared to last month in terms of companies resuming travel and fewer corporations suspending or canceling travel. Domestic business travel is now widely allowed, and corporate bookings and travel spending continue to rise month-on-month. Three out of four (77%) entity members and stakeholders feel that their employees are “willing” or “very willing” to travel in today’s environment. However, half (52%) of respondents reported that government policies and restrictions related to international business travel continue to impact their companies’ ability to perform important business functions such as networking, prospecting, planning, and sales meetings. Respondents based in Europe were more likely to cite the impact of government policies and restrictions on key business functions compared to those based in North America. “There is clearly a desire to resume non-essential corporate travel and face-to-face meetings to promote collaboration, networking, and business opportunities. And, interestingly, it doesn’t seem like cost savings are necessarily a key factor in waiting to get travelers back on the road. However, government policies and restrictions on international travel continue to impede progress in carrying out such important activities”, says the association’s CEO, Suzanne Neufang. – https://www.panrotas.com.br/viagens-corporativas/pesquisas-e-estatisticas/2021/07/demanda-por-viagens-corporativas-esta-aumentando_182973.html
