Air Force celebrates Reconnaissance Aviation Day

On June 24th, the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) celebrates the commemorative date of the Reconnaissance Aviation, one of the essential units responsible for collecting detailed intelligence data and monitoring strategic areas nationwide. Equipped with aircraft with high-tech sensors and radars, the Poker, Horus, and Guardian squadrons are strategically located in Santa Maria, RS, and Anapolis, GO. They act as the eyes of the FAB, detecting threats and protecting the integrity of the national territory. Nationally, Reconnaissance Aviation is organized into two large groups of actions crucial to the FAB’s mission: the maintenance of airspace sovereignty and the integration of the national territory. To maintain airspace sovereignty, the main activity of Reconnaissance Aviation is to generate intelligence products that assist in decision-making at different levels: tactical and operational, in the short term; and strategic and political, in the medium and long term. With regard to the integration of the national territory, recognition contributes by providing images used in various situations, such as monitoring and analyzing border invasions, urban growth, digital surface modeling, river courses, fires, deforestation, illegal runways, and mining, among others. Furthermore, aerial surveillance plays a fundamental role in large-scale events, such as the Olympic Games, the World Cup and other Interagency Operations, such as the Guarantee of Law and Order, among many others of national relevance. – https://aeroin.net/os-olhos-vigilantes-do-ceu-forca-aerea-celebra-dia-da-aviacao-de-reconhecimento/
