Airline launches high-tech refrigerator for vaccine transport

Delta Cargo, a subsidiary of the North American airline Delta Air Lines, started using a new technological device specially developed for the transport of vaccines and pharmaceutical products in general. The company has approved the use of DoKaSch Opticooler RAP, a refrigerated container that promises to attract the attention of the logistics market for the distribution of the vaccine against COVID-19 in the coming months. This is a state-of-the-art climate control solution manufactured by the German company Dokasch. The novelty offers pharmaceutical and life sciences companies controlled and reliable temperature options from 2 to 8 ° C and 15 to 25 ° C, which make it possible to transport vaccines without the need for dry ice. According to the report released to the press by Delta, the Opticooler has a large control panel and quadruple redundancy for all critical parts. This means that there is automatic backup for each technical benefit in case of failure. The large cargo compartment easily accommodates four to five cargo pallets, in addition to having an independent battery with an autonomy of up to 120 hours and only four hours for recharging, at most. “The introduction of Opticooler provides more options for our customers looking for reliable containers for the growing global demand for pharmaceutical and vaccine deliveries,” said Delta Cargo vice president Shawn Cole. “Together with our Air France-KLM Cargo joint venture partners, we are now able to offer a perfect transatlantic experience. This helps keep supply chains in action and ensures safe delivery of temperature-sensitive shipments during the current pandemic, ”concludes Cole. – https://www.aeroin.net/companhia-aerea-lanca-refrigerador-de-alta-tecnologia-para-transporte-de-vacinas/
