Azul released the preliminary traffic results for December last year on 7/1/21. According to the company, the consolidated passenger traffic (RPKs) increased 18.1% when compared to November 2020, with a 22.5% growth in capacity (ASKs), resulting in an occupancy rate of 80%. The domestic occupancy rate was 80.8%, while the international occupancy rate was 68.7%. “In December, we continued with the most accelerated resumption among airlines in our region, flying over 90% of our domestic capacity compared to the same period last year”, said John Rodgerson, CEO of Azul. “We ended the year flying to 113 destinations, a surprising reopening of 88 cities since April. This confirms the strength of our business model, sustained by our unsurpassed network and diversified fleet, which continue to give us confidence in our total resumption and growth path”, concluded the executive.
