Australia plans to reopen borders by Christmas this year

Australia’s Tourism Minister Dan Tehan reported on September 22 at a press event that the country plans to open its international borders – closed since March 2020 – no later than Christmas. Information is from Bloomberg and CNN. With the measure, foreign visitors will be able to enter the country if they are fully vaccinated. Australians will be able to travel abroad, without restriction of destination, once the vaccination rate in their respective states of origin reaches 80%. As of Wednesday, about 38% of citizens had received the two doses of the covid-19 vaccine. Australia also plans to test vaccine passports with other countries such as Singapore, Japan, and the United States. The country is one of the most stringent nations in restrictions and prohibitions to contain the spread of the new coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic. – https://www.panrotas.com.br/mercado/destinos/2021/09/australia-planeja-reabrir-fronteiras-ate-o-natal-deste-ano_184384.html
