A new Provisional Measure extends rules and deadline for travel cancelations and rescheduling
Brazil’s Federal Government published on 2/22 in the Official Gazette the Provisional Measure #1,101/2022. This is the second extension of the effects of Law 14,046, of August 24, 2020, now extended to travel contracted from January 1, 2022, with the use of credits or reimbursement until December 31, 2023. With the new PM, tourism agencies are still not obliged to refund amounts, provided that markdowns or credits are offered to consumers. This includes both this year’s renegotiations and those pending since 2020 and 2021. Important: for refund arrangements already agreed until December 31, 2021, however, the deadline of December 31, 2022 remains for the refunds of amounts paid by consumers. In either case, the amounts referring to the agency and intermediation services already provided are not refundable, which means the new PM does not change this important achievement included in Law 14,046/2020, thanks to the efforts of ABAV. – https://aeroin.net/uma-nova-mp-prorroga-regras-e-prazo-para-cancelamentos-e-remarcacoes-de-viagens/
