ANAC approves contractual amendment for the re-bidding of Galeao Airport
Brazil’s Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) approved this Tuesday, November 8, the proposal for an Addendum to the Concession Contract for the re-bidding of Galeao Airport. The contract annex sets out the conditions for providing the service during the airport’s new bidding process until its complete transfer to a new concessionaire. The friendly return of Galeao Airport began with the request of the RioGaleao Concessionaire, on February 10, 2022, and will only be effective with the signature of the Addendum by both parties. Adherence to the rebidding is a voluntary act of the concessionaire, and consists of the friendly return of the asset with the consequent realization of a new auction and the signing of a concession contract with another company, under the terms of Law #13,448 from June 5, 2017, and Decree #9,957, of August 6, 2019. The project was qualified under the Investment Partnerships Program of the Presidency of the Republic (PPI, in Portuguese) through Decree #11,171, of August 11, 2022. By signing the Addendum, the concessionaire declares its irrevocable and irreversible adherence to the rebidding. ANAC understands amicable re-bidding as a mechanism that brings legal certainty to the contracts, in addition to allowing the continuity of the provision of services to users, given that the concessionaires must maintain the quality of the service provision and the operational security requirements until the new company takes over airport operations. – https://www.gov.br/anac/pt-br/noticias/2022/anac-aprova-aditivo-contratual-da-relicitacao-do-aeroporto-do-galeao
