Electric truck is fueling planes in Manaus

A fully electric aircraft supply truck began to be used at the Manaus International Airport (MAO). The largest terminal in Amazonas is the first in Latin America to have a vehicle with this configuration, which had the initiative made possible by Pioneiro Combustíveis, which fuels the aircraft locally, by BR Aviation, responsible for distribution, and by Volkswagen, the truck manufacturer. According to the creators, the objective of the new service is to enhance the decarbonization of the aviation segment and also help to promote the development of the Amazon Region, in addition to reducing the impact of the aviation sector on global warming. So that the electric truck could start operating, a charger with a CCS-2 charging point was installed in the MAO, with an output power of 24 kW in direct current, which allows the charging of 80% of the truck’s battery in up to three hours.“The arrival of the electric truck is a seed for the creation of a network of renewable sources. (…) In addition to contributing to the decarbonisation of aviation, these trucks will make BR Aviation provide an even better service to its customers”, said Vibra’s director of aviation, Rodrigo Mota. – Caminhão elétrico está abastecendo aviões em Manaus (uol.com.br)
