Airbus will present its most famous helicopter with a new instrument flight system

Airbus Helicopters has launched the development of an Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) capability for the H125 (formerly named AS350) in partnership with Genesys Aerosystems, which will be available in the second half of 2024 on the company’s final assembly line in Columbus, Mississippi. It will consist of an updated cockpit, a new autopilot along with redundant hydraulic, and electrical systems. “Thanks to its recent innovations, the H125 continues to be an unrivaled product in terms of performance and value for money. This new IFR feature will expand the helicopter’s all-weather mission capabilities, especially for critical missions such as public services including law enforcement, emergency medical services, and enhanced training – all missions that are in high demand across the world and in North America in particular”, said Jérome Ronssin, Head of the Light Helicopter Program at Airbus Helicopters. Airbus Helicopters is seeking certification from leading aviation authorities, including the FAA, during the second half of 2024, with first deliveries by the end of that year. Today, around 4,200 helicopters of the H125 family are flying around the world in the most demanding conditions. The H125 is the undisputed market leader in the intermediate single-engine helicopter category, where it achieved a 63% market share in 2022. Last year, 161 H125 helicopters were ordered, 39 of which were in North America, setting a sales record in last decade. – https://aeroin.net/airbus-apresentara-o-seu-mais-famoso-helicoptero-com-novo-sistema-para-voos-por-instrumentos/
