Registration open for free online course on prevention of human trafficking and slave labor

Brazil’s Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC, in Portuguese) has opened enrollment for the Course on Prevention of Human Trafficking and Slave Labor, which will be available between March 27th and May 25th. The training is free, online, and self-paced, so the student can study according to their own planning and is responsible for their learning, through interaction with the contents that are in the material. There is no limit on vacancies and registrations can be made through the ANAC training portal, including during the period of realization. The course lasts two hours and was developed by the Brazilian Association for the Defense of Women, Childhood, and Youth (Asbrad, in Portuguese) with the objective of disseminating knowledge about human trafficking and slave labor, among passengers and workers in the airline industry, whether they are direct or indirect employees of airport concessionaires and airlines. The training is part of the Freedom in the Air project, which aims to prevent human trafficking and combat work in conditions analogous to slavery. It is a joint initiative of the Public Ministry of Labor with the Blue Heart Campaign against Trafficking of Persons, and which involves the participation of Infraero, the UN Migration Agency (IOM), the International Labor Organization (ILO) , the National Secretariat of Justice of the Ministry of Justice, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and the Brazilian Association for the Defense of Women, Children, and Youth (Asbrad). The project also has the support of ANAC and several airports and organizations, such as the Brazilian Association of Airlines (ABEAR), the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA), and the International Air Transport Association (IATA ). – https://www.gov.br/anac/pt-br/noticias/2023/inscricoes-abertas-para-curso-online-e-gratuito-de-prevencao-ao-trafico-de-pessoas-e-trabalho-escravo
