Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock participates in OECD conference on the use of drones in the application of pesticides

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA, in Portuguese) points out that its Agricultural Aviation Division submitted, in 2022, to the OECD Pesticides Group’s Drone Subgroup, MAPA Ordinance #298/2021 that regulates the use of drones for the application of inputs in Brazil. During the Conference, regulations from countries such as Canada, Australia, Japan, and the European Union were presented. In addition, participants were able to discuss the Guide that has recommendations for the application of pesticides with drones, which is being developed by the OECD. Currently, MAPA is reviewing the legislation that deals with agricultural aviation in Brazil. Recently, the public consultation phase of the new regulation that will replace Decree 86,765/1981 was completed. Amendments to this Decree may directly impact lower regulations, whether for manned or drones. Thus, Ordinance 298/2021, although it is a recent rule, will also be subject to change. – https://aeroin.net/ministerio-da-agricultura-e-pecuaria-participa-de-conferencia-da-ocde-sobre-uso-de-drones-na-aplicacao-de-pesticidas/
