Flight code sharing agreement between GOL and South African Airways resumed

GOL Linhas Aereas reported that on May 7, it will celebrate the resumption of the codeshare partnership with South African Airways (SAA), the largest airline in South Africa. According to the airline, the agreement will benefit GOL Customers on SAA’s international flights between Sao Paulo/Guarulhos (GRU) and the South African destinations Cape Town (CPT) and Johannesburg (JNB), and also on routes within that country, from JNB to CPT, Durban (DUR) and Port Elizabeth (PLZ). In return, SAA Customers will have access to GOL’s extensive GRU connection to destinations throughout Brazil. GOL states that the resumption of codeshare with South African Airways consolidates its position as the leading Brazilian airline in approaching and cooperating with the African continent, with the largest number of routes and frequencies available in the connection between the two continents, which in turn time has the potential to boost business and positively favor local economies. The codeshare agreement allows both companies to sell routes incorporating the partner’s destinations and increase their network and sales force. The collaboration existed until the beginning of 2020, but had been suspended as a result of the pandemic. With the resumption of the South African company’s flights to Brazil (in December/2023), the partnership was resumed, with the completion of the process scheduled for the beginning of June/2024. – https://aeroin.net/retomado-o-acorde-de-compartilhamento-de-codigo-de-voo-entre-gol-e-south-african-airways/
