DECEA implements strategic actions to mitigate environmental impacts of civil aviation in Brazil

Reducing or limiting the impacts of civil aviation on the environment and the number of people affected by aeronautical noise. These are the main guidelines present in resolutions related to the environment approved by the 41st Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). In this context, airspace management and structure play an important role, and the Department of Airspace Control (DECEA) has already implemented several operational measures to mitigate environmental impacts caused by aviation. Such measures are evidenced in the four editions of the “Action Plan for the Reduction of CO₂ Emissions from Brazilian Civil Aviation”, a document prepared jointly by the Civil Aviation Secretariat (SAC), Brazil’s Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), and DECEA, and published by the Ministry of Infrastructure. This Plan is constantly updated and submitted to ICAO every three years, in line with the recommendations set out in Resolution A39-2: “Consolidated Statement of ICAO Continuing Policies and Practices Relating to Environmental Protection.” The environmental measures implemented by DECEA are included in the various projects of the Sirius Program, which is based on the use of strategic solutions for the permanent evolution of Brazilian air traffic management, associated with the needs of the environment, and which aims to meet the provisions of the Plan Global Air Navigation – ICAO’s most important strategic air navigation document. – https://aeroin.net/decea-implementa-acoes-estrategicas-para-mitigar-impactos-ambientais-da-aviacao-civil-no-brasil/
