Turkish Airlines will expand flights to Brazil and Chile

Turkish Airlines will expand its flight offer from Istanbul, the capital of Turkey, to the international airports of Sao Paulo, in Guarulhos, and Santiago, Chile, in January 2026. The sector between the Turkish capital (IST) and Guarulhos (GRU) will have thirteen weekly flights, two more than the current offer, while the sector between GRU and the Chilean capital (SCL) will have six weekly frequencies, instead of the current four. The route will continue to be operated by the Airbus A350-900, with capacity to receive up to 324 passengers. The airline had revealed, in a report published in 2022, that SCL would be one of the new destinations to be added in the medium term. However, during the following year’s IATA General Assembly held in Istanbul, Ahmet Bolat, president of Turkish Airlines, told journalists that then, they ruled out adding Santiago to their network of destinations in Latin America due to a lack of suitable aircraft to fly the non-stop route. – https://aeromagazine.uol.com.br/artigo/turkish-airlines-ira-ampliar-voos-para-brasil-e-chile.html
