Brazil’s Superior Court of Justice rules that airlines are not required to transport emotional support animals in the cabin
The 4th Panel of Brazil’s Superior Court of Justice (STJ), in a ruling held on Tuesday, the 13th, ruled that airlines are not required to authorize the transport of emotional support animals in the cabin of the aircraft when the objective criteria previously established by the companies themselves are not met. The panel understood that in the absence of specific legislation on the subject, it is legitimate for airlines to set weight and height limits and requirements for packing in appropriate boxes for the transport of domestic animals on domestic and international flights. According to the rapporteur of the case, Minister Isabel Gallotti, allowing boarding outside of these standards may compromise the safety of flights and other passengers. – https://aeroin.net/stj-decide-que-companhias-aereas-nao-sao-obrigadas-a-transportar-animais-de-suporte-emocional-na-cabine/
