LATAM enables Apple’s “Share Item Location” feature for passengers
SITA and the LATAM Group announced on August 8 a significant advancement in the airline’s passenger experience with the implementation of Apple’s feature for sharing the location of items with an AirTag and accessories from the “Find My” network, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and peace of mind for travelers. LATAM passengers will now be able to share their location privately and securely with the group through the “Find My” app on their iPhone, iPad, or Mac. This will allow LATAM to improve efficiency in locating and recovering lost baggage, offering an additional layer of security and confidence in their travels. Paulo Miranda, Vice President of Customer Services for LATAM Airlines Group, said, “At LATAM, we know that unexpected baggage issues can occur. We transport more than 40 million pieces of baggage annually, achieving world-class performance, with our mishandling rates approximately 50% below the industry average. But, of course, we understand that for those customers whose baggage is delayed, it is a critical issue. Therefore, we are very proud to launch this feature, which not only offers greater peace of mind to our passengers but also reinforces technological innovation as a central pillar in transforming the travel experience through smart, customer-centric solutions.” For customer privacy and security, location sharing will automatically end once the customer has found their bag. Additionally, the customer can also stop sharing at any time, and it automatically expires after seven days. – https://aeroin.net/latam-habilita-para-os-passageiros-a-funcao-compartilhar-localizacao-do-item-da-apple/
