TAP wins awards as best airline to fly to South America and Africa

TAP Air Portugal was recognized at the World Travel Awards 2025 as the World’s Leading Airline flying to South America and as the World’s Leading Airline flying to Africa. At the ceremony held in Bahrain, the company also received the title of European Airline with Best Website, a distinction attributed by the World Travel Tech Awards 2025. Justyna Valente, Head of Marketing & Branding at TAP, stated that the awards have a deep meaning for the company. According to her, the distinctions reflect eight decades of dedication to strengthening connections between Europe and two of the most diverse and culturally rich regions in the world. Valente highlighted that South America and Africa are not just markets served by TAP, but an essential part of the Portuguese carrier’s identity and long-term vision. TAP operates 80 weekly flights to 14 African destinations, departing from Lisbon and Porto to countries such as Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Sao Tome and Principe, Morocco, Senegal, Gambia, and Ghana. In South America, Brazil remains the company’s main market outside Europe. There are 91 weekly flights connecting Lisbon to the cities of Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belem, Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Fortaleza, Natal, Maceio, Porto Alegre, Recife, Salvador, Florianopolis, and Manaus. Porto also has direct connections with Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. In total, there are 15 routes that directly connect 13 Brazilian cities to Portugal. From 2026, Curitiba will become part of the company’s route network. The World Travel Awards are considered one of the most important awards in the tourism sector, highlighting companies from various regions of the world in dozens of categories. The winners are chosen through online voting that involves professionals in the segment, such as travel agents and operators, as well as the general public. Currently, TAP flies to 85 destinations, with more than a thousand weekly operations, consolidating its role as a strategic carrier between Europe, Africa, and South America. – https://aeroin.net/tap-ganha-premios-como-melhor-companhia-aerea-para-voar-para-a-america-do-sul-e-africa/
