Abra, owner of Avianca and GOL, signs new codeshare agreement with Aerolíneas Argentinas
Grupo Abra and Aerolíneas Argentinas announced a new codeshare agreement aimed at expanding air connectivity between Colombia and Argentina. The initiative will allow passengers from Avianca and the Argentine company to travel more easily, using a single ticket, carrying out just one check-in, and accessing faster connections between different destinations in both countries and in other locations in the region. With the agreement, Avianca will be able to sell connecting flights from Buenos Aires to Bahía Blanca, Bariloche, Comodoro Rivadavia, El Calafate, Mar del Plata, Mendoza, Neuquén, Rosário, Ushuaia, Iguazú, Salta, and Tucumán. Aerolíneas Argentinas will be able to sell connections from Bogotá to San Andrés, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Cali, Cartagena, Cúcuta, Medellín, Pereira, and Santa Marta. The existing interline agreement between the companies will also be expanded, now covering 18 destinations operated by Aerolíneas Argentinas in Argentina and Brazil, in addition to 12 destinations in Central and South America operated by Avianca. The companies will continue to work together to obtain the necessary authorizations to fully implement the partnership. For the CEO of Aerolíneas Argentinas, Fabián Lombardo, “this new step in our alliance with Avianca allows us to continue advancing in the construction of a more solid regional network, with better options for our passengers and a more competitive value”. Adrian Neuhauser, CEO of Abra, highlighted, “We are very happy to sign this agreement with Aerolíneas Argentinas because it will strengthen the connectivity of our Avianca customers in the Southern Cone, bringing Argentina and Colombia closer together, while we continue building the project of having more and better competition in
region, so that customers have more and more options.” The initiative is part of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Aerolíneas Argentinas and Grupo Abra in October 2023 and reinforces the commitment of both parties to the development of a more robust, competitive regional network with a greater offer to passengers. – https://aeroin.net/abra-dona-da-avianca-e-gol-fecha-novo-acordo-de-compartilhamento-de-voos-com-a-aerolineas-argentinas/
