Santos Dumont Airport expands remote boarding and arrival areas and begins operating electric buses
This December, Infraero delivers a series of improvements at Santos Dumont Airport. The remote departure and arrival lounges were expanded, bringing more comfort to passengers, increasing the fluidity of processes, and reducing the waiting time for checked baggage to be returned. Two new baggage claim conveyors were installed, increasing the number of machines to six. New bathrooms were also built, with larger, more comfortable, and modern space. The investments also include eight 100% electric buses. There are four three-axle vehicles, which accommodate up to 83 passengers, 30 seated and 53 standing – the largest in operation in Brazil. Another four buses have capacity for up to 64 passengers each. Both respect the limitation of up to four people per square meter, prioritizing the safety and comfort of passengers, in addition to including spaces dedicated to the accommodation of hand luggage. The initiative is aligned with Infraero’s good environmental practices, with a focus on sustainability. – https://www.aeroflap.com.br/aeroporto-santos-dumont-amplia-areas-de-embarque-e-desembarque-remoto-e-comeca-a-operar-onibus-eletricos/
