United Airlines’ app now features baggage tracking

United Airlines has announced the launch of new features in its mobile app aiming to reduce the time customers spend in airport processes and enhance the travel experience. The new features are being integrated into the company’s digital platform at a time of high demand, with expectations of receiving more than 10 million passengers during the summer holiday travel season, the highest volume ever recorded by the company during this period. Among the highlights is the “Virtual Gate” feature, which provides real-time information about boarding, indicating which groups are being called and displaying a progress bar with the number of passengers already boarded. The functionality allows customers to follow the process without having to remain in the gate area. The app also now includes the “proximity and capacity” function for United Club lounges. The tool recommends the nearest lounges based on the passenger’s gate location and available capacity. Initially, capacity information is available at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, with expansion planned to other airports starting in 2026. Another new feature is the improved baggage tracking, which now includes a real-time map in the style of delivery services, allowing passengers to track the location of their luggage throughout the entire trip. The app also offers personalized updates, with specific guidance for those traveling with strollers or wheelchairs, reminders about required documents, and biometric boarding options. Arrival information has been expanded to include real-time local weather data, estimated time of arrival at the destination, and instructions for accessing transportation services directly from the airport. According to United, the app has been enhanced with AI-powered navigation tools capable of predicting which features are most relevant for each stage of the trip and personalizing content according to the passenger’s profile. Currently, more than 84% of the company’s customers use the app on the day of their flight. According to the company, beta testing of the new features indicated a high level of user satisfaction, especially regarding transparent communication, time savings, and real-time updates offered by the digital platform. – https://aeroin.net/aplicativo-da-united-airlines-agora-conta-com-rastreamento-de-bagagens/
