ANAC will resume slot monitoring rules
Brazil’s Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC, in Portuguese) decided to return the adoption of the regularity target for the use of slots (arrival and departure times at coordinated airports) to 80% at all coordinated airports, as of October 30th. For the monitoring of slots on domestic flights, the pre-pandemic rules apply again, and the penalty allowance (waiver) is no longer applied for the cancelation of slots from the calculation of the regularity index to obtain historical rights by airlines. On the other hand, the penalty allowance will continue to be applied for the cancelation of international flight slots, provided that the departure and arrival times come from slot histories and returned at least seven days after the Baseline Disclosure (BDR+7). In this case, ANAC justifies the decision by the slow pace of resumption of the international air market, which is still suffering the effects of the covid-19 pandemic. The airline that makes use of the allowance will only be able to make a new request for slots for canceled international flights after 30 days from the date of return, upon assessment of the availability of airport infrastructure. – https://aeromagazine.uol.com.br/artigo/anac-vai-retomar-regras-de-monitoramento-de-slots.html
