Wearing masks on flights in Australia will no longer be mandatory
The Government of Australia has announced that the requirement to wear a mask on all flights, whether domestic or international, will be removed from 00:01 [local time] on 9 September 2022. The measure was announced in a press release by the Australian government’s ministry of health on its official website. Health Minister Hon Mark Butler said the requirement to wear masks on international flights to Australia was first implemented in January 2021 to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 on board aircraft. Due to the current scenario, the government decided to withdraw the requirement, but still recommends that passengers continue to use masks for personal protection. Australia also no longer requires the presentation of a negative COVID-19 test and proof of vaccination. Also, regarding face protection, the Australian government warns that while the requirement is no longer mandatory, travelers should be aware that airlines and the countries they travel through may have different requirements. – https://passageirodeprimeira.com/uso-de-mascaras-em-voos-na-australia-nao-sera-mais-obrigatorio/
