IATA offers alternative to reopening borders around the world
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has made an urgent appeal to governments to use the Covid-19 tests en masse, with the aim of safely reopening borders and re-establishing global connectivity. The intention is to avoid the systemic collapse of the airline industry, which should not be able to maintain current conditions for much longer. Such measures aim to protect countries from new cases of Covid-19, as well as to prevent a crisis of job cuts in the travel and tourism sector, ensuring that the critical aviation structure remains viable and capable of sustaining economic and social benefits on which the world depends. “The Covid-19 pandemic remains an existential crisis and airports, airlines, and their business partners need direct and rapid financial assistance to protect essential operations and jobs”, said ICA World Director-General Luis Felipe de Oliveira. – https://aeromagazine.uol.com.br/artigo/iata-aponta-testagem-em-massa-como-principal-aliada-na-recuperacao-da-aviacao_5854.html
