Government publishes list of privatizations with 24 airports

The Official Gazette of the 23/02 published a presidential decree that qualified road, port, and airport developments for the Investment Partnership Program (PPI, in Portuguese), in addition to including federal public enterprises in the port and airport sectors in the National Privatization Program (PND, also in Portuguese) . The measure applies to 24 airports (one in Amapa, two in Rio de Janeiro, two in Sao Paulo, three in Minas Gerais, three in Mato Grosso do Sul, five in Para, and eight in Amazonas). It will be up to the Ministry of Infrastructure to conduct modeling studies. Brazil’s Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) will be responsible for the executive acts necessary for privatization. “Depending on a future decision based on the aforementioned studies, the concessions may be made separately or in blocks”, informed, through a note, the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic. He adds that these measures are aimed at “expanding and modernizing infrastructure through partnerships with the private sector”, in order to make the country more competitive. Amazonas is the state with the largest number of airports included in the list: those in Parintins, Carauari, Coari , Eirunepe, Sao Gabriel da Cachoeira, Barcelos, Labrea, and Maues. – https://www.panrotas.com.br/aviacao/aeroportos/2021/02/governo-divulga-lista-de-privatizacoes-com-24-aeroportos_179843.html
