With investments of approximately BRL 15M, the expansion will expand by more than 1,400 m² to the existing facilities, allowing to increase the capacity offered in the segments in which it operates. In addition, it also foresees the inauguration of the new Avionics Service Center. With the completion of the expansion project, the unit will have a total area of 10,000 m². One of the main investments is focused on expanding the repair capacity of avionics, in-flight entertainment, flight controls, and electrical systems, which will be able to meet the existing demand throughout Latin America. Thales hopes to reduce the time needed to perform services, improving the offer and service to Brazilian and Latin airlines. The development of instrumentation and tracking systems, such as radar and optical trackers, is also planned. In the future, the company plans to include new lines of radar and anti-drone systems. To meet future expansion and business opportunities, the company will open up opportunities for engineers, technicians, software developers, and managers. The creation of new jobs demonstrates the resumption of growth in the aerospace sector in Brazil, and will expand the workforce at the unit, which opened in 2016. “We see many opportunities in Latin America, especially in Brazil. The Sao Bernardo do Campo unit now accounts for 40% of our business in the country, and is essential to support us in meeting the needs of civil and military customers in other regions as well, increasing our presence and taking Brazilian technology beyond borders”, says Nadia Gonzalez, vice president of Thales for Latin America. – https://aeromagazine.uol.com.br/artigo/thales-investe-r-15-milhoes-em-novos-negocios-no-brasil_6753.html
