The main event of commercial aviation in Latin America and the Caribbean brings together authorities from the airline industry

The largest event in the commercial aviation sector in Latin America and the Caribbean ALTA Airline Leaders Forum took place from October 24-26, 2021, in Bogota, Colombia. The meeting was attended by CEOs of airlines and airport operators, ministers of state, directors of civil aviation authorities, and exhibitors from different segments of the industry. The CEO of Brazil’s Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC, in Portuguese), Juliano Noman, debated with the CEOs and general directors of civil aviation authorities in Latin America and the Caribbean on the main challenges facing the sector in the post-pandemic scenario. In the session on 10/25, Noman presented the regulatory improvements underway in Brazil to increase the sector’s efficiency and reduce costs, shared the actions of the Simple Flight Program, and emphasized the importance of collaboration between industry and civil aviation authorities to strengthen the fair culture of operational safety, based on the principles of responsive regulation.
