UK will no longer require testing of travelers vaccinated against Covid-19

The UK will no longer require vaccinated travelers to take a test for Covid-19 after arriving in England. The announcement was made by the country’s prime minister, Boris Johnson, as British authorities begin to treat the disease as an endemic disease. The move should spur tourism by reducing travel costs and giving travelers more confidence that their plans will not be altered by new rules to combat the pandemic. The end of the testing requirement had been called for months by major airlines and other companies in the industry. At a news conference, Johnson said it shows the UK is “open to travelers”. The measures are valid for England only. The other countries that are part of the United Kingdom (Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland) have the autonomy to set their own health standards, but normally adopt the same rules proposed by the Johnson government. – https://valor.globo.com/mundo/noticia/2022/01/24/reino-unido-deixar-de-exigir-testes-de-viajantes-vacinados-contra-a-covid-19.ghtml
