ANAC decides to extend the validity of qualifications and certificates for civil aviation professionals

Due to the impacts caused by the covid-19 pandemic on the air sector, Brazil’s Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC, in Portuguese) decided to extend the validity period of qualifications, certificates, authorizations, endorsements, training, and operational exams of aviation professionals expiring between January and February 2022 by 60 days. The measure will be published in this week’s Official Federal Gazette (DOU, also in Portuguese), and will be effective from the date of its publication. Approved on 02/01 during a meeting of the Agency’s Collegiate Board of Directors, the extension of the validity of these items aims to preserve the safety and health of regulated and servers due to the increase in cases caused by the covid-19 pandemic. According to the proposed resolution, air operators must inform ANAC of the list of professionals in their staff — and their respective qualifications, certificates, and endorsements — who will be covered by the decision. The validity of:
• Qualifications granted under the Brazilian Civil Aviation Regulation (RBAC) #61 and with an expiration date between January and February 2022;
• Qualifications granted under the Brazilian Aeronautical Homologation Regulation (RBHA) #63 and expiry between January and February 2022;
• Qualifications granted under RBAC #65 and due between January and February 2022;
• Language proficiency level endorsements according to RBAC #61 and due between January and February 2022;
• Aeronautical Medical Certificates (CMA) granted under RBAC #67 and expiring between January and February 2022;
• Training and operational exams provided for in RBAC #121 that expire between January and February 2022. –
