Accessible Aviation Survey will structure the use of air transport by people with disabilities

To map the main difficulties faced by PNEs (people with special needs, in Portuguese) when using air transport, Brazil’s federal government launched the second stage of the online survey called Accessible Aviation. In the first stage, the research was aimed at people with disabilities who use this type of transport, and now in the second and last stage, it will be exclusive to sector employees, such as flight attendants and airline workers. This research is a partnership between the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Federal University of Sao Carlos (UFSCar), the University of Sao Paulo (USP) and has the support of the National Secretariat for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the Ministry of Women, on Family and Human Rights (SNDPD/MMFDH, all in Portuguese). It aims to collect information that will contribute to the development of public policies to improve accessibility at Brazilian airports. In addition, with the results, the National Secretariat of Civil Aviation will prepare a manual on the subject. The air transport sector has grown a lot in recent years in Brazil. The increase in the number of people flying also presupposes an increase in passengers requiring special assistance. They are a considerable part of the population and have the right, like any citizen, to access services with dignity, including air transport. – https://passageirodeprimeira.com/pesquisa-aviacao-acessivel-ira-estruturar-o-uso-de-transporte-aereo-por-pessoas-com-deficiencia/
