Mexico updates electronic visa validity for entry into the country
Mexico’s borders remain open to tourists, but GOL customers with a trip scheduled to Cancun (CUN), one of the destinations served by the company in the Caribbean, need to be aware of the update of the rules related to visa requirements, released on the 12th of this month. Passengers had until 08/17 to issue an electronic visa for entry into Mexican soil, which is valid for 30 days. After that date, a physical visa, stamped in the passport, will be required. If you cannot obtain an electronic visa, you will need a physical visa in your passport to enter the country. Customers departing for Mexico until 11:59 pm on 8/17/2022 must present a valid passport and a printed electronic visa, to be issued at least 72 hours prior to check-in. If the electronic visa application is “not processed”, we recommend that the client quickly go to the nearest Mexican consulate (Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, and Brasilia) and request a visa in the passport. Passengers departing from 00:00 on 08/18/2022, and who have not managed to issue the electronic visa in time, must show a valid passport with the proper physical visa. It is necessary to make an appointment with the Mexican consulate to obtain it and appear at the place with all the required documentation. For both cases (electronic or physical visa) there are documents that need to be completed before the trip. The first is the Multiple Immigration Form (FMM, in Spanish), which must be printed in two copies, and the Customs-related Identification Data, also to be printed before arrival at the airport, for the flight. Exempt from the visa requirement: Brazilian citizens with permanent residence in Canada, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, countries that belong to the Schengen Area, and countries that are members of the Pacific Alliance (Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru), or who have valid and in force in Canada, the United States of America, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, or any of the countries that make up the Schengen Area. Proof of this condition must be made at the time of the face-to-face service. The GOL website has all the detailed information about the requirements for boarding to Cancun, and the company’s customers can ask questions about their flights to Mexico and the requirement for an electronic or physical visa by calling 0300 115 2121, or at the GOL stores in airports. – https://www.aeroflap.com.br/mexico-atualiza-validade-do-visto-eletronico-para-a-entrada-no-pais/
