Qatar Airways receives 2022 Airline of the Year award from Skytrax

In the same year that it celebrates its 25th anniversary, Qatar Airways has just been named “Airline of the Year” for the seventh time by Skytrax. At an event in London on 9/23, the airline also took home three additional awards, including “Best Business Class in the World”, “Best Business Class Lounge Dining in the World”, and “Best Airline in the Middle East”. Qatar Airways was named “Airline of the Year” in 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021, and now in 2022. Qatar Airways’ main airport and hub, Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar, also was elected this year as the “Best Airport in the World”, taking home the award for the second time in a row. The airline’s premium cabin, Qsuite, was named “Best Business Class in the World” for the sixth year in a row, while the Al Mourjan lounge was recognized for excellent cuisine, being awarded the “Best Business Class Dining Room in the World” ”. Qatar Airways Group CEO Akbar Al Baker said, “Being named the ‘Best Airline in the World’ was always a goal when Qatar Airways was created, but winning the title for the seventh time and receiving three additional awards is proof of all the hard work of our amazing employees.
