Regular flight is already 99% of registered in 2019

​The occupancy rate of planes on domestic flights in August reached 81.4% this year, according to Brazil’s Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC, in Portuguese). In August, the Brazilian air market reached 99% of demand and supply indices compared to the same period in 2019 – that is, before the impacts of the covid-19 pandemic. Among the main Brazilian airlines, Latam was the one that obtained the biggest market share in the month, in terms of RPK, with 40%, followed by Gol, 30.9%, and Azul, 28.7%. The occupancy rate of planes on domestic flights in August reached 81.4%. In the domestic market, the percentage of paid passengers transported in August 2022 reached 92.4% of the total registered three years ago. Almost 7.3 million were transported in the eighth month of the year. In comparison with August 2021, the indicator grew by 31.2% – the 17th consecutive rise. In August of this year, international air transport showed important results compared to the same period in 2019, as in the case of the volume of cargo and mail dispatched, with growth of 24.3%, and the aircraft occupancy rate, which varied positively (1.5%). Compared to the data obtained a year ago, the transport of cargo and paid mail, however, remained stable, with a reduction of 1%. The aircraft occupancy rate, in turn, increased by 48.5%. Brazilian airports handled more than 1.4 million passengers on international flights in August this year.
