Brazil’s international air network is practically recovered”, says Silvio Nascimento, president of Embratur

The Brazilian international air network reached 94.74% of pre-pandemic levels in September 2022. It is the best result of Brazil’s connectivity with the world since the closing of borders and other restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic. In the last month, the number of international arrivals reached 4,247, which represents an increase of 6.09% in relation to August, the highest recorded until then (4,003). Compared to September 2021, the increase was 123.65% in international connectivity. The president of Embratur, Silvio Nascimento, reinforces the importance of robust aerial connectivity for tourism. “Brazil’s international air network is practically recovered, and this has a direct impact on the entry and expenditure of foreigners with tourism in our destinations. These are recipes that feed and sustain the sector, generating employment and income”. The growth of Brazil’s air network follows a pace parallel to that of the whole of Latin America and the Caribbean. According to data from the International Airports Council of Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC), air traffic in this region reached in August, 98.3% of the level of 2019, the last year before the pandemic. As in Brazil, this was the best result of the region’s airports after the end of restrictions. – https://www.aeroflap.com.br/a-malha-aerea-internacional-do-brasil-esta-praticamente-recuperada-diz-silvio-nascimento-presidente-da-embratur/
