Registrations open for the 4th edition of the Sustainable Airports program by ANAC

On December 21, Brazil’s Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC, in Portuguese) informed that it opened the 4th edition of the Sustainable Airports project, with the aim of encouraging the development and improvement of best sustainability practices, continuing the assessment of maturity in environmental management in the Brazilian airports. The program is an award created by ANAC that seeks not only to encourage sustainable practices in the airline industry, but also to give visibility to the positive actions already implemented in the country’s airports. Participation in the program is voluntary and the participating airports score according to the fulfillment of criteria established in the notice, which evaluate initiatives aimed at reducing the environmental impacts of airport operations. The evaluation methodology has criteria that consider issues such as waste management, use of renewable energy, and reduction of pollutant emissions. Airports will compete in groups, according to the number of passengers processed annually, so the ranking will be independent in each group. – Abertas pela ANAC as inscrições da 4ª edição do programa Aeroportos Sustentáveis (aeroin.net)
