Unprecedented in Brazil, Cargo Transshipment service is now offered by GRU Airport

The concessionaire GRU Airport informs that the Cargo Terminal (TECA, in Portuguese) of the International Airport of Sao Paulo, in Guarulhos, which it manages, now has the flow of international cargo transfer (Transshipment). This new service makes it possible to carry out all international cargo transfers after a deconsolidation and subsequent consolidation process and with the possibility of switching to any airline. This is a unique service in Brazil, using the GRU TECA as a consolidation point to and from South America. The Transshipment procedure, regulated by local ordinance ALF/GRU #46, is allowed for cargo coming from abroad, supported by bills of lading of the HAWB (House Air Waybill) type, with passage through the GRU Airport and subsequent boarding on international flights. Cargo storage will be done in a segregated area authorized by the Federal Revenue Service. Cargo agents interested in the operation must request authorization from the agency and can consult the concessionaire’s website for further information. “This new service is the result of a year of joint work with the Federal Revenue to streamline and facilitate the process. Thus, it is possible to promote the creation of alternative routes for airlines, freight forwarders, and consignees to move cargo more efficiently, which is extremely important to strengthen trade in Brazil and for the airport to remain in the leading position in South America”, says Joao Pita, Commercial and Cargo Director at GRU Airport. – https://aeroin.net/inedito-no-brasil-servico-de-transshipment-de-carga-agora-e-oferecido-pela-gru-airport/
