ANAC launches the 2nd edition of the Sustentar Program

Reinforcing the commitment of Brazil’s Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC, in Portuguese) to the environment and sustainability, the agency launched the 2nd edition of the Sustentar Program, an award created to encourage the development and improvement of the best sustainable practices adopted by Brazilian air operators. Participation in the program is voluntary and participants score according to meeting the criteria established in the public notice, which evaluate initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impacts. Among the environmental topics addressed by the program are the energy transition through the use of sustainable fuels, operational improvements, and the reduction of carbon and pollutant emissions. Air operators who adhere to each edition of the program are classified into airlines and air taxis, according to their operations profile, and listed according to their performance. The best airports in each category are publicly recognized by ANAC. – https://www.gov.br/anac/pt-br/noticias/2023/anac-lanca-2a-edicao-do-programa-sustentar
