IATA Global Cargo Symposium to Focus on Sustainability, Security, and Digitalization

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has announced that its World Cargo Symposium (WCS) will focus on sustainability, security, and digitalization. The important event will take place in Istanbul, Turkey, from 25th to 27th April 2023. Willie Walsh, Director General of IATA, comments that air cargo is operating at almost pre-pandemic levels, but the way it works has changed dramatically due to to a convergence of economic and geopolitical forces, continuing priorities on improving sustainability, safety and reliability, as well as emerging opportunities with new markets, technologies, and digitalization. “This year’s WCS will explore how to maintain profitability in air cargo while addressing these priorities, challenges, and opportunities”, says Walsh.
