Artificial intelligence is already being used at a Brazilian airport
Latam Airlines is monitoring a part of its airport operations using cameras and artificial intelligence. The company installed the technology at Sao Paulo International Airport (GRU) to measure, in real time, the punctuality, quality, and efficiency of its aircraft’s ground operations, which can reduce the average time of aircraft downtime. The new monitoring system tracks all of the operation’s movements around its aircraft on the ground, providing operational metrics (updates of scheduled takeoff times, gate utilization times, and ground power supply unit connection times). It also prevents foreign object damage, checks the status of jetways, and provides compliance reports. Artificial intelligence kicks in when it detects a Latam aircraft approaching the gate, immediately tracking all ground activity around it to provide a true record of events. “With data in hand, we achieved more operational efficiency and, consequently, a better experience for our customers, with quality and safety,” said Rafael Walker, Global Director of Customer Care at Latam Airlines. – https://aeromagazine.uol.com.br/artigo/inteligencia-artificial-ja-esta-sendo-usada-em-um-aeroporto-brasileiro.html
