Azul publishes its Sustainability Report and shows why it was elected the most sustainable airline in the country

In the year that will complete 15 years of many takeoffs in the sky and in business, Azul Linhas Aereas has good reasons to keep its optimistic outlook on an even more promising future. And a list of these reasons – in the form of initiatives already carried out or strategic plans – appears in its 2022 Sustainability Report. The document, which was verified by an independent auditor, is now available in Portuguese and English versions on the Azul website of Investor Relations. In its presentation, Azul reinforces the airline’s long-term commitment to its development and also to the planet: “On the pages of this report, we bring everything we accomplished in 2022 to strengthen our vision of building together the best airline in the world and also the best for the world”. In addition to values, historical milestones, structure and business units, key figures, and an analysis of the company’s operating and financial performance, the Report brings together all initiatives, partnerships, projects, and especially, results that demonstrate compliance on the principles of ESG, environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and governance. One of the main highlights in 2022 was Azul’s investment in People, especially with regard to the professional and personal development of its nearly 14,000 Crew Members. Just to name a few initiatives, the company, with the help of its courses and training and recognition programs, promoted more than 1,900 of its Crew Members in 2022 (this year alone, there were over 600 promotions). Its Fuel Efficiency Program (PEC, in Portuguese) saved 134,000 tons of CO2. With 30 new bases put into operation in the country and more flights to areas of difficult access, such as the Legal Amazon region, Azul also continued with its mission to connect all regions of the country to the world – and to take not only flights , but also development for local communities. In December 2022, Azul was included, for the second consecutive time, in the Corporate Sustainability Index of the B3 Stock Exchange (ISE B3) – and it is still the only airline on the list. Still at B3, Azul has also been part of the Carbon Efficient Index portfolio for 12 years, the ICO2 B3, which takes into account the degree of efficiency of greenhouse gas emissions presented by companies. – Azul divulga Relatório de Sustentabilidade e mostra por que foi eleita a aérea mais sustentável do país – AEROFLAP
