Brazilian commercial aviation records historic record in September with almost 10 million passengers

Brazilian commercial aviation had the best September in its history. On national and international flights, Brazilian airports handled almost 10 million tourists, a volume 5.7% higher than the total recorded in the same period last year. In operations within the country, the indicator grew 4.3% in the month, with more than 7.9 million people transported, a record for the period since 2000, when Brazil’s Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) started publishing the data. In the international market, for the first time, the country surpassed the mark of 2 million travelers in the ninth month of the year, a value 11.4% higher than the total recorded a year ago, which means an increase of 210 thousand people in relation to the period compared. The increase in the movement of tourists in Brazil is a reflection of a strategic plan carried out by the Federal Government, in particular by the Ministry of Ports and Airports (MPor). In recent months, the minister of the portfolio, Silvio Costa Filho, has intensified dialogue with governments and international companies to expand the offer of flights from Brazil to locations little or not served by air transport, such as the increase in air operations to Aruba, in Caribbean, and Bogota, Colombia. This week, in bilateral meetings with companies and government representatives from Portugal and Spain focused on the plan to expand air and maritime operations, Minister Silvio Costa Filho is expected to form a partnership to further expand these markets. “We are in Europe to present Brazil’s incredible opportunities and strengthen strategic partnerships. Expectations are the best for these conversations and what they can generate for the future of our ports and airports”, indicated Costa Filho. Regarding the historic result of aviation, he celebrated and highlighted that “the data reflects the good economic moment that the country is experiencing, with growth in employment and an increase in the income of Brazilians”. – https://aeroin.net/aviacao-comercial-brasileira-registra-recorde-historico-em-setembro-com-quase-10-milhoes-de-passageiros/
