ANAC invites you to a seminar on the future of the carbon market and SAF in Latin American aviation
Brazil’s Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) invites interested parties to participate in the Seminar on Carbon Market Perspectives and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in Latin America, to be held on November 12th, in Brasilia, DF. At the event, experts will discuss the challenges and opportunities for developing an SAF industry in the region, in addition to addressing efforts to reduce CO2 emissions in the airline sector. With global warming reaching critical levels in the 21st century, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the aviation industry have set a Long-Term Aspirational Target (LTAG) to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions to zero by 2050. This goal is a part of an international initiative to make the airline sector more sustainable, supported by technological and operational improvements and the use of SAF. Additionally, carbon markets play an essential role with states monitoring and offsetting emissions through the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) measure, the first global carbon offset mechanism for the sector. The seminar will analyze how Latin America can contribute to these goals, balancing the growth of the aviation industry, essential for regional economic development, with the reduction of CO2 emissions. – https://aeroin.net/anac-convida-ao-seminario-sobre-o-futuro-do-mercado-de-carbono-e-saf-na-aviacao-latino-americana/
