International air transport breaks record in January: 2.7 M passengers

The flow of passengers in the international civil aviation market in Brazil recorded, for the ninth consecutive month, the best movement in January since the beginning of the historical series. In January 2025, 2.7 million passengers with tickets booked for international flights passed through Brazilian airports, a record for the month and the highest number in a month since January 2000. This represented a 15.2% increase compared to January 2024. The data is available in the Demand and Supply Report of Brazil’s Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), updated with industry statistics for January 2025. International air cargo also recorded positive results: 65.1 thousand tons were handled, 6.9% above the tonnage processed in January 2024. International demand, measured in RPK grew 13.1% compared to January 2024, while supply, measured in ASK increased 13.7% on the same basis of comparison. Domestic demand grew 7% compared to January 2024, while supply grew 7.4% on the same basis of comparison. The combined flow of domestic and international flights in January 2025 reached 11.3 million passengers, 7.5% above that recorded in January 2024. Cargo movement totaled 102.2 thousand tons, with a growth of 5.9% compared to January of the previous year.
