Qatar completes Starlink installation on Boeing 777s, offering Wi-Fi of up to 500 Mbps
Qatar Airways has just completed the installation of Starlink service across its entire Boeing 777 fleet. This means passengers in all classes, including Economy, now have access to free Wi-Fi and speeds of up to 500 Mbps, a first for the industry. The project, which was scheduled to take two years, was completed much earlier than expected, in just nine months, without impacting the airline’s regular operations. Qatar Airways Group CEO, Engineer Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, explained that this new milestone demonstrates the airline’s strategic investment in redefining passenger expectations. “We promised the fastest, most seamless onboard connectivity in the industry, and with Starlink, we are delivering it faster and on an unparalleled scale. With the completion of the installation program on Boeing 777s, we are now fully focused on equipping our Airbus A350 aircraft with Starlink, bringing this revolutionary experience to even more routes across our global network of more than 170 destinations.” This new milestone demonstrates the airline’s strategic investment in redefining passenger expectations. “We promised the fastest, most seamless onboard connectivity in the industry, and with Starlink, we’re delivering it faster and on an unparalleled scale.
