The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released data for global air passenger demand in August 2025 on September 30, highlighting the following: – Total demand (domestic + international flights), measured in revenue passenger kilometers (RPK), increased 4.6% compared to August 2024; – Total capacity, measured in available seat kilometers (ASK), increased 4.5% year-over-year; – The load factor in August was 86.0% (+0.1 percentage point compared to August 2024), a record for the month; – International demand grew 6.6% compared to August 2024. Capacity increased 6.5% year-over-year, and the load factor was 85.8% (+0.1 percentage point compared to August 2024); – Domestic demand increased 1.5% compared to August 2024. Capacity grew 1.3% year-over-year. Load factor was 86.3% (+0.1 percentage point compared to August 2024). The 4.6% annual demand growth observed in August confirms that the 2025 peak summer travel season reached a new all-time high. Furthermore, aircraft operated with more seats occupied than ever before, with a record load factor of 86%. Despite economic uncertainty and geopolitical tensions, the global growth trend shows no signs of slowing, as October schedules show airlines planning 3.4% more capacity. – https://aeroin.net/demanda-global-por-transporte-aereo-de-passageiros-cresceu-46-em-agosto-mostram-dados-da-iata/
