In 2025, Brazil gained prominence in global aviation with 13 airports among the most punctual on the planet according to Cirium’s On-Time Performance Review report, which evaluates the operational efficiency of airports around the world. According to the survey, there are eight Brazilian airports among the leaders in the small category, four in the medium size category, and one in the large category. In the global ranking of large airports, Congonhas Airport (SP) was the best positioned Brazilian terminal in 2025. The airport reached 13th place in the ranking, with 82.4% punctuality in departures, a relevant performance considering the high volume of operations and the complexity of the terminal. Among medium-sized airports, Brasilia International Airport (DF) was the main highlight, achieving 88.36% punctuality in departures and securing 2nd place overall. In the same category, Galeao International Airport (RJ) came in 6th place, with 85.13%, followed by Viracopos International Airport (SP), in 8th, with 84.55%, and by Belo Horizonte International Airport (MG), which reached 10th position, with 83.57% punctuality. In the category of small airports, Brazil presented an impressive performance, with eight terminals among the most punctual in the world. Santos Dumont Airport (RJ) was the best positioned Brazilian terminal in the ranking, achieving 89.67% punctuality in departures and 3rd place worldwide. Around 58 thousand flights were evaluated, demonstrating the level of regularity at an airport with intense domestic movement. In the same category, Salvador Airport (BA) also stood out in 8th place, with 87.32% punctuality, in addition to the airports of Recife (11th), Fortaleza (12th), Florianópolis (14th), Curitiba (15th), Porto Alegre (17th), and Belem (20th). For the Minister of Ports and Airports Silvio Costa Filho, the results reflect the evolution of the Brazilian airline sector. “Having Brazilian airports among the most punctual in the world shows that investments in infrastructure, modernizing management and strengthening the concession model are generating concrete results for passengers and for the country’s development”, he stated. – https://aeroin.net/brasil-registra-13-aeroportos-entre-os-mais-pontuais-do-mundo-em-2025-em-suas-respectivas-categorias/
