US registers 87% increase in the number of passenger departures
The National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO) reported that in July, 2022, US international air traffic passenger departures (arrivals and departures) totaled 21.165 M, an increase of 87% from the same month last year, and 84 % of July, 2019, pre-pandemic boarding volume. Non-US air passenger arrivals to the United States from foreign countries totaled 4.243 M, +112% compared to July, 2021, and -30% compared to June, 2019. Departures of US citizens air passengers to foreign countries totaled 6,230 M, +67% compared to July, 2021, and -3.5% compared to July, 2019. The main countries of arrivals were Mexico (3.54 M), Canada (2.39 M), the United Kingdom (1.79 M), Germany (1.02 M), and the Dominican Republic (975 K). International Regional Air Travel to/from the United States: Europe totaled 6.943 M passengers, up 242% from July, 2021, and down 15.9% from July, 2019. South/Central/ Caribbean totaled 5.222 M, up 23% from July, 2021, and down 6.3% from July, 2019. Asia totaled 1.291 M passengers, up 248% from July, 21, and down of 62.5% compared to July, 2019.
