Viracopos Airport has a 25.8% increase in passenger traffic in February
The movement of passengers at Viracopos International Airport, in Campinas, registered an increase of 25.8% in February 2023 compared to the same period a year earlier. Aircraft traffic in the month grew 18.25% in the annual comparison, to 10.2 thousand operations. As Azul’s main hub, Campinas airport has been consolidating a series of consecutive increases in the flow of passengers. Between January and February of this year, 2.1 million people passed through the terminal, up 27.4% compared to the 1.6 million travelers registered in 2022. The number of departures and arrivals registered in the first two months of this year represents the best two months in the airport history. The previous mark belonged to the year 2015, when 1.8 million passengers passed through the site. In the accumulated result for the year, up to the month of February, the number of aircraft totaled 21,504 takeoffs and landings, an increase of 22.4% compared to the same period a year earlier. The daily average of operations in the first two months was 364 landings and takeoffs.
