ANAC extends public consultation on air transport accessibility rules for 60 days
Brazil’s Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) extended for 60 days, until May 26th, the public consultation to update Resolution # 280, of July 11, 2013, which presents the procedures related to the accessibility of passengers in need of special assistance (PNAE) in air transport. The consultation has been open since January 24th and the extension notice was published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Wednesday, March 26th. The extension of the deadline aims to enable more people to participate with the aim of improving the proposal, including its text, allowing the construction of a new standard based on principles such as autonomy, accessibility, non-discrimination, adequate information, and operational security. Suggestions on the topic must be registered in writing on the Participa+Brasil platform, using a specific electronic form. Contributions may include data, suggestions and points of view with respective arguments. With the extension, ANAC reaffirms that it is open to popular participation to improve the wording of the new resolution and make it compatible with the Agency’s main objective, which is to expand access to air transport, always respecting safety rules. After due discussions, ANAC will take the proposal to the Collegiate Board of Directors for a vote. If approved, the rule will still have a period of time until it comes into force and will be published by the Agency. – https://www.gov.br/anac/pt-br/noticias/2025/anac-prorroga-por-60-dias-consulta-publica-sobre-regras-de-acessibilidade-no-transporte-aereo
